Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale, the American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association. She was drafted with the 5th selection overall in the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Arike Ogunbowale was born on the 2nd of March 1997, in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale was her 26-year-old brother, and Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years old. She was among the youngest siblings, she was the most spoilt of her parents. The father of her Gregory was stationed to the Nigerian Army for quite some duration. Ogunbowale is from a very active familial background. Her mother Yolanda was a softball player for DePaul and her brother Dare has a career in football. Ogunbowale participated at her first 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship and was awarded Gold medals at both. She was named to the 7th July roster of 2014 and was also named for the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale is also selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team after her debut collegiate season. She was even congratulated by Kobe Bryant. Ogunbowale, even though she is an absolute newcomer to the game of basketball is already establishing herself as an international star. She is certain to succeed in her professional career.
